Semaglutide for weightloss!

Semaglutide offers several benefits, primarily for weight management and improving metabolic health. It helps with weight loss by reducing appetite and increasing feelings of fullness, making it easier to stick to a diet plan. Beyond weight loss, it improves metabolic health by regulating blood sugar, boosting insulin sensitivity, and potentially reducing the risk of cardiovascular events.

Tirzepatide

Tirzepatide is an effective medication that promotes weight loss by controlling appetite and enhancing insulin sensitivity. It encourages healthy fat loss while maintaining lean muscle mass. Tirzepatide, when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise, can be an effective tool for long-term weight loss.

Metformin

Metformin for weightloss!

Metformin, a drug primarily used for type 2 diabetes, may help with weight loss due to its effects on appetite, gut health, and blood sugar regulation.

Hormone Treatment

We offer a varierty of options for balancing your hormone levels. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) offers a variety of benefits, particularly for individuals experiencing symptoms associated with hormonal imbalances or deficiencies.

NAD+

NAD+, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is an important coenzyme found in every cell of the body. It plays a vital role in energy production, your immune system, cellular repair and numerous vital body functions. NAD+ levels decline with age and under physical or mental stress. This helps to supplement the loss of NAD+, helps improve energy levels, cellular rejuvenation and repair and whole body wellness. If you feel fatigued, need help with workouts, overall more energy in life, improved sense of health and wellness, feel free to make an appointment for consult or to start your injections.

Oxytocin

Oxytocin plays a key role in maternal behavior and bonding between mother and child in non-human mammals.

Oxytocin is called “the Hormone of Love” because it’s also released during sex in humans. It’s theorized that oxytocin may help us form social bonds, and it may also make social interactions more rewarding and enjoyable.

Studies show that people who maintained Oxytocin levels during negative emotions were less likely to report interpersonal problems.

Through these results, it can be theorized that Oxytocin can help improve sex, sociability, and mood.

FAQ

1. What options do you have for weight loss?

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide injections. There are also oral medications we can use to combine with these injections to accelerate or modify weight loss, or you may choose oral medications alone. Your provider can discuss the differences between all of these meds and recommend the best fit/combo for you.

2. How does dosing work?

It depends on if you are new to the medications, currently on them, or have been on them before. If you are new to the injections your provider will start you on the starting dose. From there, depending on how you tolerate the med, she may increase the dose anywhere from 1 - 4 weeks. Most commonly, dosing can be increased approximately every 2 - 4 weeks but this highly is patient dependent and variable based on response/side effects.

3. How quickly do the injections begin to work?

You should feel a sense of fullness and decreased appetite within hours to approximately 1 day after receiving the shot.

4. Do I have to come in for a visit or is telemed ok for all of my needs?

The provider does like to meet with you in person the first time, then occasionally (every 6 mo or so) to ensure stability, take VS, and perform physical exam if needed. However, this is not necessary if you are unable to come in person and visits may be done fully telemed if needed. Your provider may ask for vitals periodically and a simple blood pressure and HR can be obtained at facilities such as walmart, walgreens, cvs etc.

5. Do you give injections in the office?

Yes, we do offer this service! The meds will be shipped to your home for self injection. If you prefer not to inject yourself or cannot, you may, at no additional cost, schedule a 5-10 min f/u with the provider for sterile injection. You will need to bring your medication with you in the office for this. There are typically 3 places to inject: Subq (under the skin) on the abdomen, back of the arm, or outer thigh. Your provider will go over the possible differences for injection in each location.

We also offer in office injections for some medications, which your provider can discuss with you.

5. What about the thyroid cancer and bone density risks that I have heard of?

Like any other medication there are risks to taking these. However, your provider has done a lot of research on this and other reported risks and can fully explain this to you. The short answer is, even if you have hyper, hypo, or other thyroid disease you are likely ok for these injections and simple monitoring will be done. She will go into greater detail on this with you during your visit.

6. Can I take testosterone as a female? What are the benefits for women?

Yes you can. The benefits are significant for females and males. Your provider has done a lot of research on this and will go into further detail however the major benefits are: increased energy, muscle mass, sex drive (libdo), mental clarity, motivation to perform daily tasks in general, and there is a DECREASED risk of cardiovascular disease when testosterone is replaced especially as we age (as it decreases naturally during the aging process).

7. Are labs required for any of these medications?

Yes, Labs are required for testosterone and HCG. As we expand into other hormone therapies, there will likely be labs required for some of those as well.

8. How long do the weight loss shots last?

Each weight loss injection will last you approximately 1 week. As you get closer and closer to your goal weight there is also the option to space injections out as you see fit. For example if you are maintaining weight taking a shot every 2 weeks, every 3 weeks, or even once a month; the medications can be spaced out in this manner and therefore last you longer as well.

9. Can I be on weight loss meds for life?

Yes. Think of these meds as you would any other that is life long. Insulin for diabetics, thyroid medications for thyroid dz, and many more. Just the same, as long as the medication is tolerated well and it is the patient's desire to remain on them, they may remain on them.

10. What forms of testosterone do you prescribe?

At this time we are using injections or creams. Both men and women are ok for using either type.

11. Do you provide HRT treatment for transgender patients?

No. We are unable to treat these needs as they are highly specialized and should be taken care of by a specialist in that field.
